NBSC Achieves Level 2 in GMEF Validation: Strengthens Gender and Development Commitment
Demonstrating its commitment to gender advocacy, Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) earned Level 2: Installation of Strategic Objectives during the Gender Mainstreaming Evaluation Framework (GMEF) Baselining and Validation conducted by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) at Chali Resort & Conference Center, Cagayan de Oro City, on June 18โ19, 2025. This recognition marks a significant milestone in the institutionโs ongoing Gender and Development (GAD) efforts.
The event gathered State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) from Regions IX, X, and XIII, marking a crucial step in reinforcing gender responsiveness in public higher education institutions. Representing NBSC were key members of the Gender and Development Focal System – Technical Working Group (GFS-TWG):
Miss Zandra Shellee Y. Ordinan serves as the head of the GAD Office, while Mr. Benzar Glen S. Grepon holds the position of Supervising Administrative Officer. Additionally, Dr. Daniel S. Lerongan is the head of the Quality Assurance Office.
PCW GAD experts, including Patricia Beatriz R. Azanza, a GMEF Reviewer and GAD Specialist II, and Hamilcar B. Chanjueco, Jr., a GMEF Validator and Supervising GAD Specialist from PCW-NMFO, conducted the GMEF validation process. This validation covered four key entry points: Policy, People, Enabling Mechanisms, Programs, Activities, and Projects (PAPs).
Achieving Level 2 demonstrates NBSCโs foundational success in establishing GAD policies, building capacity among personnel, and aligning strategic goals toward gender responsiveness.
Looking ahead, NBSC remains resolute in its aim to attain Level 3 by the 2027 validation cycle and eyes the prestigious GADtimpala Award. This forward vision is driven by the unified efforts of the GAD Office, the strong leadership of President Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, Ed.D, CESE, and the unwavering support of the NBSC workforce.
